Malta household budget calculator
Bring your real costs together. Weekly, monthly and yearly amounts all work here.
Your own figures, not an average cost of living or an affordability assessment. Enter take-home income only if you want to calculate what remains after these costs.

What this includes
- Uses your own amounts. No average rent, grocery, income or cost-of-living claim is supplied.
- Weekly expenses use 52 weeks divided by 12 months. Annual expenses are divided by 12. A calendar month is not treated as four weeks.
- Use monthly take-home income, after payroll deductions. Tax, social security, benefits and borrowing affordability are not calculated.
- Enter each cost once. For a seasonal bus or driving pattern, use the annual result from that calculator as an annual expense to avoid double counting.
- The per-person amount assumes an equal split. Budgeted annual bills need setting aside even when payment is not due this month.
Simple arithmetic using the amounts and frequencies you entered. No national averages are assumed.
Before you use the number
How are weekly and annual costs converted?
Weekly costs are multiplied by 52 and divided by 12. Annual costs are divided by 12. This spreads irregular spending into a monthly planning amount.
Are the figures typical Malta prices?
No. Nothing is prefilled as a national average. Use your lease, bills, receipts and calculator results. Costs vary with your household, location and choices.
Does the remaining amount include everything I need?
Only if you have included every relevant expense. Savings, debt repayments, irregular bills, school costs and emergencies may need their own amounts. The result is arithmetic, not financial advice.
