Before you book

Give every quote the same journey.

Same pickup. Same time.

Use the same pickup pin, destination, stops and departure time in each app. An earlier quote may already have changed.

Room for everyone.

Compare suitable passenger capacity and luggage space. Confirm child seats or accessibility needs with the operator.

Read the whole fare.

Check waiting, cancellation and changed-trip conditions. At the airport, follow your provider’s pickup instructions or the official taxi booth.

Your figures. Your little plan.

Make room for the ride.

Turn a quote into a weekly habit, or see what sharing the fare could look like. Nothing is booked or ordered here.

€8 per ride, 10 one-way journeys, one person.

Illustrative €8 all-in quote for every journey, 10 one-way journeys per week and 1 passenger. This is not a Malta fare or provider quote.

Choose a starting point. Every field stays editable.

Example prices help explain the calculation. They are not Malta averages, current tariffs or supplier quotes. Replace them with your own figures. Applying an example replaces every amount and clears your quote note and date.

The whole vehicle, including any charges and tip you want to budget. Copy your final app quote or agreed taxi price.

Out and back is two journeys. Two rides a day on five days means 10.

An equal split for one journey. Check that your vehicle fits everyone and their luggage.

Monthly planning averageYour amount

Start with your one-way quote, or try an example.

A blank quote is unknown, not free. Your total appears when the required figures are filled in.

Good to know. Free to work out.

How this little plan works
  • The all-in quote is for one journey in the whole vehicle. A return trip counts as two journeys. The same price is used each time, although actual quotes can differ.
  • Your weekly total is the quote multiplied by journeys per week. Annual assumes 52 identical weeks; the monthly planning average is weekly × 52 ÷ 12.
  • An equal per-person share is shown for one journey. Confirm the vehicle fits your group and luggage. No live fares are fetched or guaranteed.

Does Uber work in Malta?

Yes. Uber’s official Malta site and airport page offer ride requests. Enter your exact pickup and destination to see current options. Availability and driver acceptance are not guaranteed.

Which is cheaper: Uber, Bolt or eCabs?

There is no fixed winner. Compare current quotes for the same trip, departure time and suitable vehicle type. Check what can change the final price. This directory does not rank providers by price.

Can I get an airport taxi without an app?

Yes. Malta International Airport’s official guidance identifies a prepaid taxi booth in the Welcomers’ Hall, offering fixed-rate tickets for destinations in Malta. Check your destination fare there before paying.

Are buses and ferries free with tallinja?

Eligible day, night and special buses, plus eligible harbour ferries, are free with a valid personalised tallinja card used as required. Tallinja Direct, Airport Direct and On Demand are excluded from the free bus scheme. Gozo ferry operators have separate ticket rules.
